Hey Carla,

Thanks for the kind words =)

I started off looking at some basic information from this CBC archive of various health care related articles:

http://www.cbc.ca/news/background/healthcare/index.html

That being said, I think a bunch of the concepts weren't really clear, and I basically spent an entire day searching through Google before I was finally satisfied that I had a decent understanding of most things.

It also doesn't help that our all provinces/territories manage health care a bit differently, and some things that can be done in some provinces/territories can't be done in others. Sometimes a lot of the articles generalize (without providing exceptions), and you're left thinking that a bunch of articles are contradicting each other (when in fact, it's mostly because policies and regulations for health care aren't necessarily the same across Canada)

I found your blog randomly a few weeks ago and have been following ever since! Congrats on all of your interviews, and best of luck with the whole process. You seem like a great person and you really deserve it!

I was wondering, though, what resources you used to familiarize yourself with the health care system? As a prospective medical student, I'd like to learn a bit more myself :)

Tim: Thanks :) Yah, I think you're right about that. I think I've been very fortunate with my timing too, with UofT only a week away and all of my thoughts/reflections from last week pretty fresh in my head. And then 3 weeks to prepare a bit differently for Mac's MMI.

Lana: Thanks =) Really appreciate everyone's support
