I think that I'd be more likely to look for connections between units if I knew that I'd be tested cumulatively. I think that this kind of wholesome perspective is needed to truly understand and appreciate most subjects, and avoiding cumulative testing would discourage that.

Even in courses with little connection between sections, knowing that a cumulative exam is coming up should give me more initiative to review regularly. Now, I don't know how useful it is to just forget everything for most of the year and cram it all at the last minute, but for regular reviewers, I think that cumulative examinations can provide a more solid and wholesome understanding of the course!

Sara: I actually don't know how to set up an official appointment lol. I would suggest going to Science Academic Services at 355 Lumbers and I think they should be able to help you.

Lisa: Yah they would be the same as normal tests, except cumulative exams cover all of the material taught for the course. It's definitely a bit easier to study the same material a second time around, but I just don't understand why it needs to be done in the first place, since you've already been tested on it once already.

Cumulative exams? How are they different from normal exams? Anyway, I think they serve a pretty important purpose, since everyone tends to forget A LOT right after the unit tests. So well, if you already know the stuff, they should be easy to study for.

I categorically despise fact-based courses with cumulative exams. It just serves to unnecessarily increase the amount of memorization for finals. Its total fucking bullshit and I hate profs that do it, they're assholes.
