I remember attending a conference last year where the scholar was just so down to earth. Before he was due to speak, he requested for the MC to cut his introductory bio short out of pure modesty. I later learned that he disliked being referred to as &quot;Dr. so-and-so&quot;, since he feared it would give him a sense of undue elevation. We can only admire the sincerity of such great leaders. 
 
I really like this quote: &quot;To become truly great, one has to stand with people, not above them.&#8221;  :) </description>
