Hi Brindan,

I think that's absolutely fine - I think the more important thing is how you tackled the challenges and what you learned from them. You can't control how well the project turns out, but if you can describe the process well, I think you'll be fine.

Best of luck!

Dear Joshua,

This is a wonderful list of guidelines and it's truly awesome that you've got something like this for those who are writing scholarship applications. I was wondering... for a question like "Describe an important initiative/activity you undertook in which you were the leader. Using concrete examples, what challenges did you encounter, how did you deal with them and what were the outcomes", is it suggested to write about your multiple challenges, but without a major positive outcome? I have worked on a major project but the sucess has affected smaller numbers, rather than large numbers (though originally, it was planned to affect major numbers)... the small success is significant to the community, though maybe not in a direct way... would judges prefer minor sucess but with long term affects for the community, or major success with short term affects... I hope I wasn't too confusing!

Thank you for your time and efforts! Be well!

Hey!
I am writing an essay for a scholarship. The prompt is over My Personal Goals and/or My Professional Goals. It is for a business my father works for and I would eventually like to work for. I don't want to sound like every other cliche applicant saying that I want to work for them but I actually do. I am also not sure how to start this. Some brainstorming ideas would be nice. Thanks a bunch!

Hi Connor,

I still think you can use your idea - I'm pretty sure there have been past winners who have written about projects they are currently working on.

Best of luck!

Hi Josh,

I've only just stumbled upon your website and already I think it's incredible that you do this for youth like myself! How you find the time along with medschool I have no idea.

I had a question about a scholarship I'm applying to myself. It's the Youth In Motion Top 20 under 20 Award. I am required to describe an idea or project where I played a leadership role in. Currently, I'm organizing a big project occurring between my own school and another school in Vancouver but I wasn't sure if it would be a good idea to use for the leadership project/idea for the top 20 under 20 award. Do you think I still have a chance of winning if I explain a project I'm currently organizing?

Looking forward to your advice,
Connor.

Hey Sonia,

If you like science, do you like teaching? Maybe science tutoring, or doing presentations about science to younger students.
