Yah I think that's pretty normal, at least in my experience. If you're good friends, it's very easy to get distracted and goof off :)

Generally, my friends and I end up doing the practice tests the day (often, the night :P) before the actual test. That way the information is fresh in our head, which is especially important because some profs often reuse test questions or similar ones.

lol, yeah studying with your best friends isn't exactly the ticket to an A on your test, but yeah, we do ask each other questions for clarification, I just couldn't study with them. Ugh, I always want to go over practice tests but end up not having enough time...how do you manage it all (ie, studying plus practising old tests, etc)?

Hey Aisha,

Actually, I can't do serious studying with my friends either - we end up talking. But what we do together is go over practice tests, or ask each other questions when we're confused. So while you might not physically study together, it is helpful to have a group of friends you can ask for help/clarification, especially when it comes to working through assignments, practice tests, etc.

Hey Joshua,

I totally agree with everything you said here, there is no right or wrong way for many things in university. I think you're pretty lucky to have such a reliable study group, whenever I usually study with others, I find that things can get out of hand and they start blabbering about other non-academic things...but of course I've learned not to study with them anymore. I guess it really helps if you can find the right people, who are just as committed as you are.

Hi Joshua,

I was wondering if you recommend bringing a recorder to lectures if your professor let's you?
